This type of institution can be an excellent choice for students who want a focused undergraduate experience with good contact hours and personalised attention. Conversely, a university that ranks higher in the Complete University Guide than in the Guardian may be research-driven, which can be valuable for students who want to be taught by leading researchers and who may pursue postgraduate study.
When you read either table, the most useful information is often not the overall rank but the individual metric scores. A university ranked 35th overall might have higher student satisfaction scores than one ranked 15th, and if student satisfaction is your priority, that detail matters more than the headline number.
